Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to make a reservation?
A: Reservations are required for our
Greenwich Village, Historic Districts and All-in-One walking tours and for groups of 6
or more. Walkups for these 3 tours will be permitted if space is
available.
Reservations for all other tours are not required, but strongly recommended. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and allows us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that could disturb the tours.

appropriately for the conditions. Comfortable walking shoes are
recommended. However, extreme weather (blizzards, prolonged heavy
rain, etc) may cancel or postpone the
tour. Please contact us or check the website for updates.
Q: Do the tours end where they start?
A: No. Each tour ends at
a different location. For a map and directions from the tour,
including mass transit, please click on the
locations. The Lower Manhattan tour ends at
City Hall Park. The Midtown tour ends at
30 Rockefeller Center. The Greenwich Village tour ends at

Q: Can you recommend the best place to eat after each tour? A: That's a good question. With over 24,000 eating establishments in NYC, it's really difficult to say what is best. Click the tour name to find the highest rated establishments on Yelp for each tour ending. Your can expand the geography and choose the type of cuisine. Lower Manhattan, Greenwich Village, Historic Districts, Midtown Manhattan, All-in-One and Central Park.
Q: What is an appropriate tip/gratuity?
A:
That's a good question.
Since our tours are free, and we work just for tips, it's really up to you;
how you like the tour and what your financial situation is? These are
important determinents. With that said, we average about $8 tip per
person on our 2 hour
tours and about $25 tip per person on our All-in-One 6 hour tour. However, we like
to think of our tours as "name your own price". You let us know what you
think. Don't like the tour? Don't waste your money! Love it? Then
we appreciate whatever you feel is fair. How can you beat that?
It's the best money back guarantee in the business.
Q: Do kids like these tours?
A:
Yes! All of our tours are suitable for children. However, our
All-in-One tour may be a bit long for small children.
Q: How long are the walks?
A:
Most of our tours are a little over one mile (1.6k) in length. The tours are approximately 2 hours in length.
Our AIO tour is roughly 4 miles of walking and lasts 6 hours.
Q: Can we bring our dog?
A: We love dogs! We welcome dogs on our tours as long as they are on a leash and are well behaved. If your dog becomes a problem, we may have to ask you to leave the tour.
